The Four Transformations (Si Hua) is a crucial concept in Zi Wei Dou Shu, referring to four types of changes that stars undergo due to the influence of Heavenly Stems. The applications of Si Hua in chart reading are infinitely varied, making it an essential tool for discussing changes in Zi Wei Dou Shu.

Transformation into Wealth (化祿)

The expansion and gain of energy — it represents the "extra" resources and "added" affinities. It is the giver within the chart, symbolizing benefits that were never originally yours but come to you as a bonus. Among relatives it signals a deep bond; in career, opportunities pouring in; in the spirit, abundance and the ability to enjoy.

Hua Ke is not simply an auspicious star but a force of "being seen": it represents attention to and embellishment of a particular palace's affairs, which may be the drive to win honor, or an overpackaging done for the sake of face.

It is the endpoint of resource flow, guiding us to pour life's "benefits" into the place we most long to make whole.
